Auto Glass Replacement Repair Warranty
Windshield and Fixed Glass Replacements
Your glass is replaced using the highest quality materials available to City Auto Glass. The glass is bonded to the body of your vehicle using a urethane adhesive which meets or exceeds Federal Motor Vehicle standards for glass retention when cured. City Auto Glass will warrant your windshield/fixed glass replacement for as long as you own your vehicle against leakage due to workmanship. If rust is evident, we cannot fully warrant the installation or glass part. Stress breaks are warranted 90 days.
To prevent your newly installed windshield from leaking please follow these simple rules FOR AT LEAST 24 HOURS.
- Do not take your car to a power car wash.
- Remove tape after 24 hours (if used) – please pull slowly to prevent paint damage.
- Drive the car as little as possible during the first 24 hours and avoid high speeds.
- Park on a level surface.
- Exercise extreme care if your vehicle has passenger side airbags. Please allow a minimum of 1 hour for the adhesives to partially set before driving after the installation.
Moveable Glass Replacements
Glass parts replaced by City Auto Glass are warranted for 90 days against operational failure.
We cannot warranty existing mechanical parts. Please be careful of broken glass fragments. We have vacuumed the loose pieces but fragments can penetrate your seats, carpet and air vents. Please take your vehicle to a car wash with a high-powered vacuum and vacuum the fabrics and air vents thoroughly. Fine pieces of glass may continue to work out of the fabrics. It may take several vacuuming's to get them out. If the glass we replaced is a moveable glass, please use caution when operating the glass. Do not use it for 24 hours in order for any adhesives to harden.
Windshield Chip Repairs
The age and cleanliness of the original break impact the quality of the chip repair. Contaminants in the chip influence the clarity of the resulting repair (but it is structurally sound), and you will always see the original impact point where the rock hit your glass. There is a chance that the chip may crack from the pressure of doing the repair while we are doing the work. If this happens we will not charge for the repair, and we will schedule a windshield replacement. If the chip does crack from the original repair, or if you are not satisfied with the finished repair, we will credit your repair payment towards the price of a windshield replacement that is done by City Auto Glass.
